At a certain time in life you realize time is all you have and you’re not willing to let anyone waste it.
 
 

Kim Cage Riley, was born and raised in Waukegan, IL which is 60 miles north of Chicago, IL.   She grew up around music, her Godfather was Ike Cole (Nat King Coles brother) so needless to say Natalie Cole was one of her biggest influences. Kim would always be singing and dancing around the house, entertaining family and friends and winning local talent shows. After college, she moved to Mpls, MN to pursue her singing career. While performing at a night club called Ruperts, she was introduced to Jesse Johnson of the Time and became one of his background singers. Jesse Johnson later formed a group called, 3 Shades Brown on Interscope Records which he produced “Stronger than Strong” Kim was the lead singer, Kim co-wrote several of the songs on that album. Kim also co-wrote a song for Cheryl Lynn’s album called, “Whatever It Takes”. During this time Kim also co-wrote and appeared on several sound tracks for block buster movies such as: “Action Jackson”, “White Men Can’t Jump” and Another 48 Hours “The Boys Are Back in Town”, with Jesse Johnson.

 

 

 

This accomplished vocalist has had the opportunity to work with an array of Grammy Award winning artist such as: Peabo Bryson, Regina Belle, Denise Williams, Chante Moore, Deborah Cox, Ledisi, Dave Koz, John Stoddard, Kirk Whalum, Gerald Albright, Norman Brown, Brian Culbertson, Marcus Miller, Brian Simpson, Jeffrey Osborne, Freddie Jackson, Howard Hewett, Jesse Johnson, The Time, Debbie Allen, Paula Abdul, Toni Basil, Clarence Clemons, Loose Ends, Cheryl Lynn and Andre (3000) Benjamin and a host of other well know artist..

Kim is continuing her career with her new solo project “Family, Friends and Favors” that is out Now! It has a Smooth Jazz / RnB / Easy listening vibe! It’s sure to please.
